95 ZJ Project Never done...

Hey guys, been around on the forum for a while but never really posted much. I feel like its time to post up my build since it's gone through some stages.

Some Before and After Stats:

Before: (bought at 66k miles, now has 157k)
1995 ZJ Laredo
2wd
4.0l

First off, let's introduce her as my brother's jeep when he was still in high school

This is the condition when I got it back.....with a BB

So i figured, let's do something. Just a couple of things here and there, right? ....wrong lol

Painted Cladding

Got some 31s to replace the worn down BFGs

Painted the TJ canyons (Bad picture, I know)

3.5" lift and pretty close to how it sits today

Tire Carrier and hellas, but they're now mounted on the front bumper

Some girls :beerchug:

But there's one slight problem....the front wheels didn't work

Dana 30

Dana 30 cleaned up

Axle out

Quick Comparison

Axle goes in

And just like Magic!

155k of miles on the joints...they're toast

Upper ball joints...yeah, those aren't suppose to separate

Lower ball joints...definitely aren't suppose to be bent

New ball joints, muuuccchh better

Donor 5spd ZJ with 231? I think so

I was originally planning on swapping everything onto this ZJ, but it had some rust and title issues that I didn't want to deal

Donor ax-15 and 231 t-case

Changing of the plates from the donor to my ZJ and a top shot of transmission

Here's the plates. Top is the donor 4x4 5spd mount, the bottom is my 2wd auto

Pulled out the 42re. Back of the engine shot

Sorry for the cell phone pics. I was too excited to grab my camera. When I'm home from Baylor, I'll take some better pics

The front driveshaft isn't in because the previous owner who owned the donor short changed me on some bolts, but everything else is bolted up.

It is a lot more fun to drive with a 5th gear. 2nd and 3rd have soo much pull! Plus, my mpgs went up 5mpgs! Worth every penny

Current Stats:
95 ZJ
4x4 231
ax-15 5 speed swap

1995 ZJ Laredo 4.0 - 5 Speed swap and 4x4 conversion, JKS KOR conversion and durometer bushings, Bilstein 5100s, fixed LCAs

I believe they were Raybestos. I think they're great. A much better upgrade from the stock ones by far

I know, it was more of a lazy thing when I put those there. Im gonna fix that when I come home for spring break in 2 weeks. I'm gonna trim the bumper and move the lights up and take the PA out of the bumper

Uhm..I started the swap during thanksgiving break thinking I could finish it. I wanted to finish it, but I ran into those 'Jeep moments' where nothing actually goes right. So that was four days. I came back for the winter break and finished it up the last 3 days. So about a week of working about 3 hours a day, but it was a total of 2 months having my ZJ out of commission lol

That's okay though, I have my DD to take care of me

Thank you!

Yeah, when my friends and I were tearing apart the interior of the donor, my friend ripped it out and I yelled, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!...I NEED THAT" haha

Definitely one of those 'oops' moments

It's all good, I'll go find another one from a junkyard.

I love the 5spd. During these awful gas prices too, its great to drive around the city
