It's all gunna be about finding the perfect balance haha. In the way long run, you could go with one of those dual rate sway bars. One anti-rock style for rock crawling, one stiffer for driving/prerunning. Just flip a little lock to switch between them!

i'm still feeling kinda sick, but being inside is KILLIN me so I've been doin some work on the 14B today.

Marked the shave lip

Chopped it, delicately sanded with the flap wheel for a while and finished with a file to find high spots. I was actually suprised to see how much imperfection there is in the factory machining of the cast! Makes me even less worried about this lip hah. It came out pretty damn well though.

The welds on the ring gear area of the shave are good, no porosity or lack of penetration anywhere.

I chopped the bottom of this after the pic, and thats about where I'm sitting now

Thanks guys!

Travis, I definately have enough material on the side pieces, they're still about 1/2" thick. I'll just have to use smaller bolts than OEM. We'll see if I can do anything directly under the ring gear, but I can't drill through weld material so I gotta take it easy haha

What are you going to use for the cover? I'm assuming you'll have to chop a cover to match right?

Yeah mike, Andy has one of the beefy DIY cover kits for me, that's what the ring is from you see in the last pic. I'm going to modify it, and add a bolt hole or 2 back to make sure things don't leak

Yeah, I was refering to the area you added. It didnt look like you could put the oem bolt sizes back in it.

Fun day of work today!

I started the day by pressing in the joints, then I tacked the truss on and put some lower link mounts on as close to the cast as I can squeeze em. Might not be enough *fingers crossed*

So I put the radius arms, and made it easy to roll under the truck. I might have to chop and extend the upper arms, running low on thread engagement, and the pinion isn't angled up enough yet. This is because of the lowers mounting directly behind the axle tube instead of below like factory, once again we'll see!

Mmmmm not too shabby hehe

The track bar mount lines up very nicely, but the lowers are fully shortened right now. We'll see how the tires sit in the wheel well with it like this

I'm done workin till after christmas, which is when I'll put a track bar in and really see how everything moves, but so far so good!
