Any reason for not doing a triangulated rear shock setup like Clayton's offers? Seems you'd get the most flex out of the 4 link rear that way.

Thanks Travis!

I think the triangulated shocks will happenin the next phase, it would be fun to design the upper crossmember with the torchmate muahahaha . The plasma cutter makes it easy to zip off these shock brackets when the time comes!

non-traingulated and spaced as wide as possible is MUCH more stable. being on a double tri you need all the extra stability that can offer.

that is a good point on the stability, even though we will have a rear sway bar, its only going to be connected when on road, soon as we hit the trails, its off.

speaking of wich... anyone selling some JKS quick disco's?

I'm going to use a full traction tj bar in the back. Should work well against the anti rock.

Haha! The bearings to the left, and the lower 3 left boxes are all for my 609 build, the rest is for Andy!
His stuff:
2 lockers
2 gear sets
2 install kits
set of wheel bearings seals
2 yokes
pair of 14 b shafts
front driveshaft
2 hydraulic rams
2 fresh calipers/brakes for the D60

absolutely.
after riding in a clayton's zj with everything disconnected. sirfuego's buggy, and wheeling with the anti-rock. it definitely needs the stability offered by sway bars in both ends. for this area anyways.

ill keep that in mind... i have been reading that a swaybar is a big help in the stability department... time will tell waht i decide to do, mabe wheel with one connected, one not.

Amdy, that's really going to be a personal preference thing. Out here on the west coast we don't have to use momentum on obstacles like a lot of the east coasters do. When you start using a lot of momentum is when the body roll gets a little scary.

If you do decide it's too soft without sway bars though, those aftermarkets are probably going to be a little too stiff for you, limiting fex a pretty good amount. We'll have to find a perfect middle ground!

enough control on road with your set up is going to limit you off. It's the nature of the double triangulated long arms.

I get decent on road roll in mine now, but at slow speeds the anti rock is nice. I expect when I finally get around to hooking the rear up it will smooth out the on road shennanigans.
