Coming along nicely man, is that a 14 bolt rear or a dana 60? Im not really familiar with axles. Either way, doesnt seem like hes going to break anything. Hes pretty lucky to have you working on it..

Looks to be a 14b. Any chance of a shave?

Looking awesome though!

Daniel

Their truss is HUGE! Running it as is will give you terrible numbers.

Have you thought about sinking the link mounts into the truss?

'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.

Thanks Spike!

John, it's a 14 bolt, and thanks! With the 37"s he definately shouldn't be breaking anything.

Daniel, we're looking into a massive shave on it. Turning it into an 11 bolt, but adding a few holes back in.

Marc, the truss is wayyy too big for any sort of reasonable numbers in stock form, it NEEDS to be cut down. Thanks for the compliments!

Rat, I'm going to have to take a good look at it tomorrow but i might consider it, the tnt upper link mounts seem kinda...mediocre so extra reinforcement by sinking it in could be a good thing!

The guys at TnT seem to like to cut it tight with being able to squeeze bolts into place. I had to hammer this peice of plate away a little bit so I could get the lower control arms bolted in. I would have been PISSED to find this out with the crossmember bolted up in place under the truck.
Did some final grinding prep work on the truss to get it fitting how I want, and mocked the coil buckets into place...movin right along!

Got them all together though! Lookin sexxay. I'm actually going to build up the entire suspension in mock form like this outside of the truck, all tacked and bolted together. Easy as pie haha!

Oh snap! I spent the early part of the afternoon taking the surface rust off all the things I'm working with, then I tacked all the brackets in place and set up the suspension. I'm going to burn the upper link mount into the truss, but the truss is coming back off so I can weld it in two pieces and weld the tubes to the 3rd as planned. Sitting with about 8.5" vertical seperation, and the LCA bolt holes just a little below axle centerline.

Next time I work on it everything gets finish welded! And I must say, having the TnT crossmember has been so nice, allowing me to build the suspension outside of the truck instead of under it!

Gotcha. I've used a Millermatic 135 some and I really like that. Thinking about going for the 211 because of the 115v/230v flexibility. Is the 175 good enough for everything you want to do with it?

Yeah the 175 definately has the power for everything I've wanted to do. In my next couple of updates you'll see me really pushing it's abilities, and I'll do weld pics to show the results. The inner truss and lower control arm mounts are both 3/8" so I'm going to have it cranked. Also when I'm welding the tubes to the cast I'll have the heat cranked up as well.

I never have an issue with the duty cycle either, I need to cool down personally more often than the machine does hahaha!

*EDIT* Quick response Brian haha, thanks!

Hahaha I think I had some porosity on those truss welds too...it's almost as if I can see right through them!
