Thanks errybody! They're actually 1/4" thick haha

Andy, it's bolt on, 4 bolts per side for the front and 2 or 4 per side for the rear. In the front they actually have you weld on some extra reinforcing plates for the additional 2 bolt holes per side. In the last picture you can see the hole i had to cut in the bottom of the stiffener for the threaded nutsert in the frame rail, I figure it's the locator for the rear crossmember. I know you'd probably prefer to have them welded on, but you have to unbolt the front crossmember to do any sort of tranny/tcase work and I don't know a way around that.

do they use the factory nut serts?

I haven't looked in detail at the mounting of the rear crossmember, and it seems you only have that nutsert on one side so I guess it was for a factory skid plate or something. Looks like there's going to be drilling involved with the rear installation from the looks of things though. I may hold off on installing the rear crossmember for now, as you said a while back it would be in teh way for swapping the tcase when the time comes, and I have no need for it to be installed until then.

Not sure how effective this is. I think the vent openings are too small to make much of a difference or create any ram air effect.

well, deffinatly not for increaseing power.... i still think it forces in agood amount of cooler air.

i am not worred about it at this point... ill proably buy a reguler hood and sell the 5.9 hood....

I'd say rock the 5.9 hood man, I've always liked the vents

Alright, I have another way to upload pics, so I got some for ya guys!

First off, I think I finally killed off the rest of the ******* wasps. Andy had told me about (and I had seen for myself) that wasps had taken a liking to his jeep where he had it parked. I *thought* they were pretty much gone when I brought it back, but I kept having a random few buzz in and out of the garage so I went on a hunt...they liked your ******* cowl man!



I killed the **** out of those things! Bigass nest/hive they had going though!


Sorry about the blurry pics, I think this old camera has just about had it. It's a nikon digital that I'd say is a solid...8-10 years old. I've dropped it off the workbench at least a dozen times


These are the inner plates that add 2 bolt holes per side to the front mounting. The bolts are probably 5/8-3/4" thick. The kit also came with bolts to run horizontally though the frame rails, we'll see aboot those. I welded the bracket on pretty damn solid.


LCA mount be gone...gatta love plasma cutters

what kind of links are you going with? im redoing mine. gonna go 3 link up front and push it out 2" or so with all JJs... gonna redo the rear too... hopfully lift the tank enough into the cab to push the back out 2-3"s as well with all new links... agian JJs. know anyone that wants clayton rear links? already have the front sold.

This is treks offroad (TNT) longarm kit. The front lowers are 2" .250, and it does the radius arm like everyone else. Props on goin with the 3-link, my WJ's going to get it eventually also. As for the rear, it's a double triangulated 4 link. It's looking like I'm going to have to do some gas tank work when the time comes for the 14 bolt also, but I already have na idea. Before Andy left we crawled around under it and chatted about things, well while we were at it I went and looked at the gas tank. It looks like it might not be all that difficult to push the tank back towards the rear of the ZJ a few inches. When I did the gas tank raise on my WJ I also pushed it back a lil, helps everything fit haha.

hell yea man. thats good to know about the tank. i havent had time to even look at bigblue lately. just got done moving into a new house so things have been a bit hectic. im tuned in tho man.

also do they just not have the zj kit online or is it ideally the xj kit? i dont see nothin for a zj but the unibody stiffeners.

For sure man, we have a lot of fun in store for this ZJ hehe! Also, I'm pretty sure it's a production item, it just might not be on their website. I will say I'm very impressed with then engineering of the entire kit. A lot of design time went into everything and it shows.

So there's no way to drop the crossmember for service without taking the arms with it?

'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.
