Woooow! Somehow I missed these responses! Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate the compliments! I've had this project on the back burner as I built my 9", but I'm now waiting for a few parts so I'm back to hammering out this thing. Schools almost over, and I'm fully motivated...it's go time

A little rewind from the work before I put it on hold: The gears came back from cryo and I installed them...to find out the pattern wasn't acceptable. Apparently on the final assembly I accidentally seated the inner pinion race an extra couple thousandths, which is what changed the pattern. It really frustrated me, and happen as things started to come together for the 9", so I decided to stop workin on this for a little and focus on that.

Fast forward to yesterday, I blew the front axle back apart. Carrier came back out, pinion, pinion seal, and the inner bearing race all had to be removed so I could adjust the shims.

Today I measured out all my pinion shim choices and chose a combo that added...like 3 thousandths IIRC? Bingo

Now it's time to get the final assembly going hehehe!

Hell to the yeah man! Seeing that good pattern really motivated me today, I installed the axleshafts, spindles, packed the wheel bearings with grease, put them and the hub seal together, installed the hub/rotor combos, and then installed the calipers and new pads. That's badass, quite a few items off the checklist!

Oops, looks like I forgot the pic of doing said tasks yesterday :P.

Heres my checklist to call the front end 100% done:
Brake lines
Lengthen tie rod
Lengthen drag link
Final weld track bar bracket to frame
Finish diff cover protection
Install driveshaft
Install springs
Install shocks
Double check all suspension bolts.

I'm thinkin 2 days of hardcore work and I might be at that stage, which means I can assemble his wheel/tire combos and let the front end off the jack stands for the first time

Unfortunately, today won't be one of those days, as I have one of my final presentations in school this afternoon

I'm guessing because he is in the US Marine Corps and there flag has gold, red and white in it. Yellow is close to gold.
