I checked with elite chassis last week, Jason figures I can pick it up in a week or 2. Can't wait.

Yeah I heard about FOA burning to the ground. Sure sucks man. they keep adding products to the product list though so hopefully they'll have their coilovers up again soon.

I was in contact with them. They say they will ship mid feb. I told him my build and he said that 2.0 series is fine for mine, also that the 2.5 will only add stability at speeds, which mine will never hit. 2.0 series means $600 for the pair shipped with springs. Worth the wait if you ask me.

Top mounted to a hoop running strait with the frame, bottom will mount to the outer cs on the axle housing.

So I am correct in my thinking that you are going for stability in the front by them being mounted out that wide? What about the rear?

I'm actually mounting them this way because of ideas o received off the forum on how to get longer travel shocks. My current setup, on this rig, was not dropping, but was unseating my coils, and on the other side the tires where contacting the inner fenders. This mounting system should give me the best clearance for longer shocks

The rear I'm taking the upper rustys arms, and making my own mounts to triangulate them so I can remove the track bar, also moving the shocks inboard as the current setup has the calipers hitting, and wrecking the shocks.

Gotcha. Looking forward to seeing how well this works out for you. I think you've seen my buddys zj on tons where he moved his rear springs inside the frame rail and gained a lot of travel. Lots of travel but alot of body roll to go with it but its a trailer rig too

Yes I did see that, and was thinking of doing it as well, I'll see how it works. I need some stability in the rear as the bed houses the fuel tank, the radiator, and the air tank, which doesn't way much but. I'm hoping to run as little ride height as possible with as much droop as I can get, while still keeping pressure on all 4 tires. I'm new to this crawler building game so any advise is appreciated.

Lol. I got lucky a neighbor kid is going to school and needed a trans project, but also wants a 2wd trans, and has a 4wd one. Now he is rebuilding a 4wd trans for me for free. Score.
