4 wheel Drive problem
Hi Newbbie here. Experience has taught me that when you`ve a vehicle problem and the garage talk telephone numbers as far as a bill is concerned its often the time to message a forum. So here I am. I recently changed my old Grand Cherokee (1995) for a newer model 2006 Grand Cherokee CRD LTD Edition Automatic with a Mercedes 3 ltr diesel engine. I have found that when sitting for any length of time it will not engage 4 wheel drive. Local garage says its the sensor in the little motor that engages the 4 wheel drive and that its a common fault often caused by condensation. Is this true? Can the sensor alone be replaced and how easy is it to fit a new motor if required. Being quoted nealy £600 (nearly $1000 US)to do the job.
Happy and Healthy New Year to All
