Heres a link to the silver Soft 8's, http://www.cragarwheel.com/catalogs_399.html# better than black IMO, and it says they have 16x8's. Thinking about these as my next wheels as well

If you get those, you planning on regearing those JK axles higher than the 4.10s that come in them?

You'll have to let me know how those 37s hold up on the 44's, IRO told me mine would be fine up to 37's (with higher gearing of course), but I haven't gotten around to upgrading anything yet. My plans were to go to 35's but way to many other hobbies got in the way. A local guy here that helped me put my aussie in my 44a a couple years ago was running 37s on his WJ, but he was running 60's. He was breaking drive shafts and ujoints, he said that he never broke anything until he went to 37's, so this made me a little leary.

I'm going to put a sleeve in the front housing, along with trussing both housings. 37's are going to be pushing the JK 44's to the limit, I will have to run alloy shafts front and rear. My buddy runs 35" Krawlers on his JK 44's in his XJ, and he's broken his share of shafts, and one locker. Guess the lockers aren't that strong, he carrys a spare....

Mine are the ultimates from IRO, they are already trussed but I'm still leary about the 37's, but then again I don't want to buy 35's only to go to 37s a few months later. I'll probably wait it out, it's not like I've got a whole lot of time to wheel right now anyway.

Traction and differential clearance are more friendly than articulation.

Sounds like you have a sweet upgrade planned. One thing to consider, my buddy has a TJ with 37" Crawlers and they are loud! If you get anywhere near 40mph they are deafening, our two friends behind us is a WJ could hear the tires as we drove home from wheeling.
