37's on the 'dub.....

Well, I ran across an awesome deal on some 37" Maxxis Creep Crawlers (5 of em, less then 3k miles). I need to buy new wheels anyways, since the JK axles are wider (with my current 15's, it won't be able to fit width wise between the fenders of the trailer), and these 37's are for 16's.

Now, I know this is probably a stupid question, but whats the offset of the soft 8's? I'd get a 16x8.

I'm already figuring it having to cut, and bump stop the hell out of it, but I figure the 37's will look alot better with how tall it is (8"). Going to have 5.13's put in the JK 44's so that way I'm not using 4 low to drive around normally

Anyone got pics of a WJ with 37's, I want to see how good/bad it looks.

Thanks everyone.

37s.. big step. I cant wait to see them on your rig.

nelson1248 03-30-2009 03:07 PM

sweet!
how much wider are JK axles anyways?
i wonder if it takes alot of modification to make them work in a WJ?
wouldnt it just be easier if you change out the plines from the JK acles to the Wj?
would be cheaper too.

i think your gonna have to be the 1st to try 37 boi... man o man thats gonna look cherry haha

good luck!!!

I just didn't realize how big those tires look. The full width on that XJ makes em look bigger though.

Thanks for the cragar link, calling summit right now.

CaribouLouWJ 03-30-2009 03:25 PM

Edit....16x8's are 5" of backspacing....that almost seems like too much?

Could always run over to the JK forum and ask em what they are running with that size wheel???

AgitatedPancake 03-30-2009 03:32 PM

go for it =D

"Edit" green, that wont help. His choice of backspacing is going to have to be based on the dubjays ability to stuff these tires. Kinda like comparing apples and oranges.

You can get soft 8s with different backspacing. They main BS for 16x8s are 5" and 3.75".

I have 4" because when I worked at Les Schwab I had my boss call up cragar directly and order then with 4". :D

Oh and the JK axles are 1.75" wider than WJ axles.
