Wj311WJ's Build Thread

Hey I just decided I should finally post on here and keep track of the progress of my Jeep.

It's a 2001 Grand Cherokee (WJ) Limited with the 4.7 v8

I just bought my wj in january 08'

decided to install a RE 2" BB Shocks and 17" Cregar Soft 8's

my buddy helping me with lift, and an after pic.

This is Hell's Revenge, Jeep Safari 08' with my BB

Then I decided last month it was too small. specially because my friends are from moab and we go there quite frequently.

So i ordered a 4.5" Long Arm lift, Pro Comp MX6 Shocks, and 33" BFG KM2's

I received the tires First

Then the lift finally showed up

So we got to work

the long arms involved cutting off the Stock control arm mounts

Finally got it done. Took two 5 hour days to get it on..

Looks like you need to adjust the rear bump stops or trim in the back. Also looks like you need some sliders. I am sure thats on the to do list. Looks great. I wish my wife would let me lift her wj up in the air.

Wow, I have yet to see a lifted WJ I like, but WOW....yours looks phenomenal. Are those 33x10.5's? How are those working out for you? Also, what backspacing do those cragars have? They look perfect and tuck those tires in nicely. Future plans? Rad build dude.

Thanks!
Ha ha.. well i have already cut off about 2+ inches off the back.. it looks like it's rubbing but it barely does it when it's REALLY stuffed. I'm planning on going to a 6.5 inch lift for jeep safari so i'm not gunna trim more til then.

and YA! lol if you look at the tip over challenge pic, you can see a dent on my rocker panel under the front passenger door lol i did that on CliffHanger the day before lol I'm actually welding up some rock Sliders right now. Looking at some different options for mounts. i'll post pic of progress when i get some (progress that is )

Well They are a 285/70-17 Which roughly is a 33x11.2 and the cregars are the soft 8's. and have a 4 inch backspacing.. i'm looking into getting either wheel spacers (dunno how i feel bout that) or new wheels with a little more to make my wheels stick out some more.. cause i rub my long arms barely at full turn.

Future plans? umm.. I ordered a k&n intake, i'm fabing up some rocksliders, And for jeep safari i'm going to go 6.5 (which will need a new tom woods drive shaft and sye)
