3/16" Skid plate for 2001 Grand Cherokee?

I am having a hard time trying to find a strong skid plate for my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I have a factory skid plate but it's not very thick.

Also... where can I find the strongest, lowest hanging hitch?

I am not going to wait ten years for a recall while people are burning to death in Jeeps.

I don't have a lot of money but I have kids in this jeep with me.

I wonder if I just sell it quick before the word gets out that these are fiery death traps but that would make me as bad as Chrysler.

I will never forgive Chrysler for not doing a recall.

And don't buy any other cars either. Nothing is safe, I'd probably just sit in my basement in the fetal position until this whole life thing blows over.
