Nice man. So you cut a bit off the front coil and stuck it out back?

What kinda wheel/tire set-up you planning on?

no when i pulled the front coils they had half a coil broken off, the coil was in 2 pieces. As for wheel and tire combo im gonna keep the same wheels i love the gold and red and get some 31/10.5s for now until i can afford some nice 32s

broncofire75 03-28-2009 10:53 PM

You got the hooks, now you need a tow hitch. I just got mine on today and can already tell it will save me a lot of trouble.

Can't stress that enough.

Also get some bigger tires on asap! Those stockers look silly in the rear. :teehee:

2tone93zj 04-05-2009 03:26 PM

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...Ctures1302.jpg

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...Ctures1303.jpg

got a gas and transfer case skid, do you think i should get the factory front end skid? is it worth it? I heard they are pretty crappy.

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...Ctures1304.jpg

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...Ctures1305.jpg

my "new" used 31/10.5/15s Goodyear Wrangler ATS about 50% tread life left

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...Ctures1307.jpg

and another junkyard find a 242 with 190XXX kms on it dry as a bone with a .840 input shaft the exact replacement as my 249.

thats all for now folks:cheers2:

nice JY finds, thats good stuff.

make sure those tires are safe, IE not too old

2tone93zj 04-05-2009 08:44 PM

yea ive started to get really lucky with finding tons of ZJs at my local yard. As for the tires I got them from my buddy they were on his old 4runner they are defiantly old, when i get them swapped to my rims ill get the insides checked out to make sure they are not wrotten or anything.

2tone93zj 04-07-2009 08:36 AM

well boo on the tires, turns out one of them are no good. I guess im on the search again for tires.

2tone93zj 04-12-2009 04:03 PM

so this was a good weekend.

Friday completed my 249 > 242 swap and it couldnt have gone easier! installed my gas tank skid and hitch. Installed my new rad and rad hoses.

Today finished my lift install, suspension seems a little loose in the front when i turn to the right it sways hard right, and the same with the left. Steering is also loose holding the wheel straight the jeep wanders, and when going straight the steering wheel is upside down. Any ideas on where to start?

thanks
