well my truck is still vibrating like one of those chairs in the mall, checked and re did the spacers 3 times to see if that would stop it but no luck. gonna check the front drive shaft next, hopefully thatll solve it.
and also ordered JCR Stage two sliders a couple days ago, cant wait to get them.

changed my oil back to 5W-30 (didn't know realize i put 10W-30 in originally) and changed the crappy Fram filter for a nice Purolator. she sounds so much better without the ticking

What oil did you use and why 5w-30? I have always run M1 10w-30 High Mileage Full synthetic to keep the Zinc levels up and the 4.0 happy.

i did full synthetic 5w-30 this time because i had changed it a month ago with 10w-30 and it ticked bad most of the time, also added some oil stabilizer too. she seems happy with good temp and oil pressure.

How are you getting an oil pressure reading? The 2002 to 2004 WJ's didnt have an "actual" oil pressure gauge. Mine will just stay in the same place and doesnt vary with RPM like a real oil pressure gauge will. Ive had the lifter tick during winter time cold starts and sometimes cold starts over the summer. The oil stabilizer didnt do anything for me when i tried it out.

yeah but the reading i got off the gauge from when i had the 10W-30 oil in was a little higher than what i liked (5W-30 is more in the middle, less work for the oil pump) and when i got it from the dealership with a new oil change. mine doesn't change either with the RPM's and i used to get ticks even when the engine was warm.

Yeah I've had it tick before too. Oil takes a second to get up into the lifters. But like I said, the additive pack in the mobile 1 is almost unbeatable so I rub that. Does the 5w-30 get rid of all the ticking for you? It is a bummer that 2002 to 2004 didn't get s real oil pressure gauge.

Eww that is some nasty tick. The worst that I had so far was just for a split second on initial start up. Glad that the new oil calmed that down. They will tick forever and keep running.

Exactly, good oil, better filter, and regular changes! Hard to kill the 4.0! My worry is the transmission!

LOL when I started to get really into my Jeep, especially when the keys were tossed to me, and when I found out that the trans was crappp. Was not a good day. So I do what I can to help it out, such as me adding the massive aux trans cooler. I just is not the best fit with the WJ. If a better/stronger trans was paired with the 4.0 WJ it would be so much better. Such as a fully electronic and 5 speed would have been beyond amazing!

Honestly i loved the manuel 5 speed the older Ford Rangers came with, they could handle 500,000 miles of life if the engine and truck would stay together for it
