2004 JGC PO codes 31 & 51

I installed O2 sensors on a 2004 Jeep GC 4.0 liter. The upstream sensors were reversed causing (I assume) PO31 and PO51 codes and PO 136code. I reversed the sensors to their proper position but I'm still getting codes PO31 and 51 but not the PO136. I'm wondering if it might take some time to lose the PO31 and 51 codes. I've cleared the codes several times but they keep returning. Any ideas???????
