'05 Grand Cherokee ABS problem

Recently, the ABS and traction control lights popped up on my '05 JGC Limited. Mechanic pulled the code C1035 and said it was probably a short between the ABS module and right rear wheel sensor, but was going to charge an arm and a leg to diagnose exactly where the short was. I've read online that some people just replace the sensor and the problem goes away, but that wouldn't be the case if I have a short. How do I locate the short and if the wiring is bad, how do I repair/how expensive is the repair?
