The new AT tires kick butt in the snow! They need a decent amount of gas to break them loose and a lot of pressure on the brake to get ABS to kick in. They also ride and handle better than the Goodyears, if that's possible. Here are some shots from the recent storm. image-1059981342.jpg image-711127486.jpg image-1092431413.jpg

how do you like the duelers? i have those in the H/T style on my JK Sahara rims and they dont do too bad in the snow, but theyre a highway tire so they kinda suck.

looks good man, love how its basically stock with subtle touches here and there

The Revo 2's are great in pretty much every driving condition. I can easily claim that these are the best tires I've purchased for a WJ (and I've gone through about 4 sets total between 2 different WJs).

Thanks for the compliment! That's pretty much what I'm going for. I'd love to lift it, but I have concerns with lifting a vehicle that's a daily driver with 112k miles on it. Hence, the mild suspension upgrades (bilsteins, Addco sway bar, etc). I'm very proud of the work/modifications I've done to it!

mission accomplished. i do agree with the lifting of a DD after lifting all my jeeps and driving them daily, including my current WK- im looking forward to taking it down to a stock level and enjoy it that way. the reliability does decrease in my opinion with a lift, components wear prematurely, and youre constantly making adjustments and youre never satisfied.

great job and i am looking at the revos or maybe some falkens as my next tire

Exactly my point. Have yet to meet someone who's lifted a WJ, had it that way for a while as a DD, and never looked back. Too many headaches.

Good luck deciding. I hear the falkens are a good option too.

Well the Jeep has been handling the extreme cold temperatures VERY well. No quirky problems to speak of. However, last week she started making a loud squalking noise from the driver side front wheel well. I believe one person on YouTube referred to the noise as a bunch of "angry sparrows". Very odd noise. After some consulting with my trusted Jeep buds, we concluded a wheel bearing was the likely culprit. Ordered 2 new Timken bearings from RockAuto for $130 shipped to my door. Long story short it was in fact the wheel bearing. Once I was able to get a good look at the old driver side wheel bearing it was clear that it was expired. Tons of play back and forth and spun freely without any effort. I could also hear some of the internal bearings had flat spots. Compared to the other side that had no play and a good bit of resistance. Figured I'd do both just to be safe. Unfortunately I can't attach videos, but y'all would be amazed at the amount of play in the old bearing. She rides and handles so much better on the highway too. Soaks up bumps really nice now! image-2895622349.jpg image-3135488581.jpg

Haven't posted here for a while. Not much to update on other than she turned 115k and got the Goodyears mounted and balanced on the new chrome wheels. These wheels are in fantastic shape! No pitting AT ALL and no scratches on the faces.

Some goodies from Kolak! A little summer project for the Jeep...new PCV system, including the valve, breather tube, crankcase breather, and oil filler housing. Nothing's really wrong with it now, but I'm doing it all as preventative maintenance

Not WJ related...but I took our Hemi WK to the track just to compare times with the WJ. 14.8 vs 15.4. Definitely impressive considering how heavy it is I do love that Hemi motor.

Successful day of replacing the PCV system with the exception of the crankcase breather tube (was pressed for time with rain, will get to it another day) and changing the oil. Who doesn't love new parts?!

Old PCV valve. The pin inside still moved, but it had a good amount of gunk in it.

What's left on the summer "To Do" list before I go back to college:

* Replace serpentine belt (Gates)
* Re-paint rear bumper pad (winter was rough and it started to peel in certain areas)

What's left on the long term "To Do" list:

* Replace rear A-arm (bushings and ball joint)
* Replace transfer case output seal (wet, but not dripping or losing any fluid at the moment)
* Find a new set of rock rails lol. Mine succumbed to the typical rust build-up inside which finally ate through a spot on the passenger side rail. The plastic end caps are HORRIBLE at keeping stuff out of the rail, especially moisture. Noticed a lot of rust flakes fall out from the inside when I bedlined them too. It looked so bad I just decided to take them off for now. Looks lifted

Could you describe what products you used and what you did? In other words, did you do everything by hand or just spray a foamy degreaser on there and then spray it down with a hose? Always curious but *scared* to do this for fear I'll ruin something haha
