It was time to change the diff fluids and transfer case fluid again...well, not really but i scored a good deal on some Redline fluid and I'm picky about maintenance. Pulled the cover on both diffs and found no signs of premature wear on the gears Again, the fluid used was Redline GL-5 75w-140. Also put a Lubelocker on the Dana 30, so much easier than the RTV. Good days work!

ever get your injector issues solved? id try a can of seafoam through the tank and run one through the brake booster line- that has been proven to help peoples idle issues as well as any fouled up injectors.

also, great build thus far- love the subtle mods. i went the same direction you are going when i had my 02 WJ- bilsteins at all 4 corners, UC springs and rear addco. never got to install the mods, as i totalled it a week after i got all my parts in.

Well I did have new injectors installed a while back around the 100k mile mark, but that didn't help the low idle. It's funny because when the Jeep is tuned via Superchips, it ALWAYS idles right at 600 where it should. But if I take the tune away and set it for stock, the idle will dip down to 400-450 at stop lights and such. Has me wondering if a part that the Superchips tune tunes is not working correctly . Next on the list is replacing the fuel filter (which actually came in the mail yesterday).

Thanks for the comment! I would love to actually lift it, but it's a daily driver and I don't have the time or money to fix old suspension parts if they start to fail after the lift. It's nice to hear that someone else appreciates the subtle upgrades I have done.

I'm not really a fan of Seafoam or any type of additives when it comes to the engine. For some I hear it works wonders, but for others I hear nothing but horror stories. The negative reviews may be because they didn't follow a certain procedure or overused it in some area, but I am not willing to take that chance. Other than the idle, the Jeep runs extremely strong and smooth so I'm not too worried about it.

I haven't checked for a vac leak yet, but me and a couple other WJ guys kind of ruled that out when we discussed the problem in detail. Plus, like I said, it only dips down when the Jeep isn't tuned with Superchips...so if it was in fact a vac leak, I would expect the idle to dip down all the time regardless of the tune. It is a very strange thing, but I always have it tuned so I don't experience it anymore.

It's really just buggy programming the WJ PCM is a very primitive JTEC based design that is known for having bad idle control. My roommate did something with his restrictor plate or tweaked the TB a little to get rid of it on his 5.9 but I wouldn't recommend messing with it too much.

I ran Seafoam through my WJ and its been eerily quiet and smooth for a good 30k now but its starting to make some valve noise again so I might give it another go. I would not put it in the crankcase I do fuel tank and feed through the vacuum hose.

id throw it in the crankcase and run it a 100mi and then do an oil change to get all that gunk out of there. the fuel line and the brake booster helped me with a fouled up plug and a misfire on my 4.7.

Finally got some time to "fix" something that has annoyed me since the day I bought it...the faded rear bumper pad.

I was going to use the left over bedliner I had from the rock rails, but decided to just use matte paint. It's Duplicolor Trim Paint. Did some trim pieces on the ZJ too and I'm really happy with the way everything came out.

Next on the summer "to do" list were new brake pads and rotors all around. The brakes really should have been addressed soon after i bought it but now, 20k miles later, they were starting to squeak. The old pads were worn way below the wear indicator. Now she has Napa Premium rotors and Duralast Gold Cmax ceramic pads. Brake feel and stopping power is A LOT better . Also got a new WIX fuel filter.

OLD: Notice the small chunks missing from 2 rotors
