btw... I've been told with the painted shocks you can wax them if you want (just regular ol' car wax and a microfiber) to ward away any rust.

While that probably is not a bad idea, I have not had any issues with mine. I thought you were getting yours replaced, Matt?

No Michael with the 5100s I wouldn't wax them, its an aluminum finish and I wouldn't want to put anything weird on the metal. I planned getting mine replaced but its purely cosmetic, they just lost their sheen and they're grey now. Don't want to bother Kolak unless they wear through or break cus they're just suspension parts, nbd if they aren't flashy/shiny anymore.

I see, I really like how they look with that finish. Again, glad Scott was able to get them on without much problem.

Scott, any luck with the idle problem?

The fronts were so much easier then anticipated. Guess it helped that the PO had the shocks replaced once before.

Ummm kinda...before the injector service (if not tuned via superchips) it would idle down everytime i came to a stop. But now it only does it intermitently. Idles at 600 more times then it idles down to 400 now, so i'm not sure what to make of it.

Not sure why, I know that my friend's 4runner will drop down like that when coming to a stop. Idle at around 700 and then decide to go down to 500 and then kick back up to 700 and then back down to 500 depending on what the AC is doing or accessory load.

Don't know if it is supposed to do it or not, seems like everyone's does. Is the torque converter electronic on the 545rfe?

New Goodyears mounted and balanced! I don't know who makes "American Prospector", but I want to call them and tell them their tires suck! The ride and handling are so much better with the Goodyears...happy customer!

Installed a cabin air filter from Filterheads. The whole kit (housing, filter, and cover) cost 28 bucks, but the quality shows why. The housing and cover are pretty cheap and you need to be easy on them when installing. I know it shouldn't be Mopar quality for half the price, but I would expect the plastics not to bend/crack so easily. It does fit together pretty well though. Not too impressed, but for 28 bucks i can suck it up.

Decided to hold off on the UpCountry springs for a while. My current springs show no signs of sagging at all. From the center of the hub to the fender, i measure 18" up front and 19" in the back. These are typical numbers for non-UC WJs. Also, the UpCountry springs are only about 20lbs stiffer than non-UC springs. With the added 1" of height, i don't think that would be enough to counteract the increased COG to solve the body roll issue.

My only gripe about the WJ is the amount of body roll it has. Not only is this due to the soft springs, but more so to the small rear sway bar. Since this is something i have to deal with on a daily basis (and the factory sway bar bushings are squeaking pretty bad), i opted for the Addco 1" rear sway bar (P/N 684). Got it for an awesome price on ebay. Will post pics and feedback once it's on the Jeep!

Well, the bar is on! I can definitely feel an improvement between the 1" and factory 9/16". Handling is much better and body roll is reduced. Feels more planted in corners.

As you can see i greased the bushings to prevent any squeaking/crunching. However, after installation i developed a creaking noise over bumps. Further inspection found that the bolts that hold the bar to the end links were making that noise. Still need to grease the bolts as well as the end links just to make sure everything is happy and silent.

Overall, i'm satisfied with the bars performance. Maybe i'll look into an Addco front sway bar later on down the road. Pics to come...
