Does this headunit work with the wired steering wheel controls? I am looking to replace my head unit and I have a exact same jeep with just a few thousand less miles on it.
You need an adapter that has to be programed for the specific head unit. I had bought one to install but it got lost in storage.
I'm still hanging around the Forums i just have a 04 Golf TDI as a DD. I'm gonna do a scrambler build in the next year. Looking at putting a diesel in it.

I went down to Ocean City, MD for Ocean City Jeep Week, and that was so much fun, heres two shots I took.
Later that night, I decided to take the doors off in Ocean City and go for a cruise on the beach with the girlfriend.
The next day in Ocean City, there was a trail ride sponsored by the Eastern Shore Jeep Association which is a great group of guys. Here some pics from that day.
There was XJs, JKs, TJs, a ZJ, a YJ, and me being the only WJ.
Lunch Time in the trails
And here's the aftermath of what a great weekend it was with the Maryland clay all over it. Definitely going back next year.
Labor Day Weekend, me and my buddy with an '04 WJ and another buddy with an '04 TJ, all went door less and rode around on the property I have upstate. The gray WJ didn't come home in too good of shape =[
Next weekend i will be doing the gas tank tuck/ lift and ill be sure to get pics from that. Have been reading a few write-ups and its something I really wanna do. My plans to finish up this build are as follows:
Rain X Wipers
CB Antenna Mount and CB
Rear Bumper one without holes and cuts in it.
Monstaline Bumpers and possibly cladding
BTF Diff Covers / Fluid Change
Steering and Ends
Front Shaft U-Joints
Ive neglected this work but it will be done before I wheel it again.
I plan to keep this jeep next summer and use it as a daily while I start my new build which will just be my wheeling Jeep.I will start a new build with an 04 overland with 42,000 that my uncle has. I plan to go all out on that build with the following:
Polk Rear Speakers
Alpine Front Speakers
No Exhaust after muffler
Cobra 19 CB, Antenna and Mount
6" Clayton Long Arm Kit
KOR Front .75 Spacers
33" or 35" MT/Rs
JKS Steering w/ Moog Ends
IRO Coil Retainers
Valhalla Fab Tube Doors (Front)
BTF Diff Cover
Alloy USA Ball Joints
BTF Diff Cover
Valhalla Fab Truss and Skid
JCR Stage 2 Rock Sliders
KOR UnderBelly Skid
Proto Fab Front Winch Bumper w/ Warn Winch
Proto Fab Rear Tire Carrier
We then had to drill a 3" hole through the frame to run the gas lines through, and we surrounded the hole with 3" exhaust piping
The filler neck had to be cut down so that the hose wouldnt kink.
After the skid was welded, and the hoses were ran, we bolted the tank back up and put the jeep down on its own weight. Overall we gained 7 inches out of the tuck. Im very happy with the way it came out.
