ZJ Differential Rebuild Good Price?

This is what I am being charged for the rebuild of my rear diff. He said the bearings were all bad on my '96 Jeep ZJ Laredo 5.2L. Is this a pretty bad deal in your o-pinion?

labor: 6.6hrs - $594
parts: $354.53
fluid: $13.60
Total: $985.54

All the bearings? And yes $1000 is a bit high. If its that bad you can replace the axle yourself for like $200

Yeah, with a junkyard axle.

For a full rebuild that's not bad. What parts in the diff are included in that price?

Usually diff labor runs 250 to 450 labor depending on the vehicle. Rear diff say 44 or 35 in a jeep figure 390 labor and which parts you need and then oil

Thanks! yeah, I decided to go ahead and do it. It is AAMCO that gave me the quote. I may be able to find cheaper, but their work is quality. Supposedly the junk yard diffs all had more miles on them than mine, and I had 210k on mine. He is doing a full bearing kit, and re-doing the shims. After spending $600 on brakes, $100 on a new front pinion seal. I think I'll be done with repairs for a while. I was going to put a Flowmaster on her, but I think I'll keep the money in my pocket for now lol.

If they do good work, the labor is a little high for the rear diff on a light vehicle
