Won't run without giving it throttle

Hi, just put a new piston in my 96 Grand Cherokee 4.0 (piston skirt failure) Put everything back together and it wouldn't run without giving it gas. It ran perfect before I tore it down. Got it put back together late last night so I haven't spent any time checking anything yet. I'm leaning towards a fuel issue because it's not backfiring or anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Never mind. Cleaned out the IAC valve when I got home. Running like a top so far. I'm quite pleased with myself ;-)
