The 4.0 made it almost 300k miles, then took a crap! I found a whole 2000 grand cherokee for 200 bucks. Will it fit? Will the obdI computer let it run? I can swap manifolds and all the little things if need be, as long as the block bolts to the ax-15 and the motor mounts are close, I can rig something up! It's only a mud buggy!

p.s. I did a search and found nothing.

The block is the same... It'll fit on the mounts and mate to the trans.

The wiring and sensors are different ... for the OBD2 setup.

It's certainly be easier to find an OBD1 engine. If this is all you can find, then it'll work, but it'll be a bit of a puzzle to get everything working correctly. (Then again, if it's not a road-car you may not care about anything but making it run well... sensors and lights be damned!)
