What should my rpms be and why poor mpg

Hey I have a 02 tj 4.0. All stock drive train on 33's .. I think my rpms are really high but to sure cause I'm new to jeeps. So roughly what should my rpms be like at 70 mph?? It's almost 3000. Is that right? Also what kind of fuel millage should I be getting. I know it a jeep and not a Prius, buy I don't think 10 mpg is right since it only has 85k miles. What do you think??

depends what gear you have for the final, but it sounds like 4.1 if you're not in od, if in od then its more

Check out this nifty RPM calculator. It says: 4.10 gears + 1:1 trans ratio = 3000 @ 70
