What other intake & exhaust manifolds can be made to fit a 258 ci Jeep engine?

So, I've been tossing around a little project with my OME 258 I-6 Jeep engine. It might require different manifolds, so I figured I'd ask what's available out there that will mount up to the eixisting head on my Jeep.

Most preferrable would be an intake that will mount a Holley 4 bbl, and an exhaust that has tubular style pipes, rather than the "log" type manifold. But I'm open to any manifolds that can be made to fit, from any make and model.

Requiring some modification is fine.

I don't want to go spend $300+ on a new manifold, junkyard scavenging in the goal here.

Thanks,

Mike

6=8 performance. They make alot of intake and exhaust manifolds for the I6's. They even have ones that hold 3 weber 2 barrel carbs. As far as others that will mate up perfectly? I have no idea. Personally if I had a 258 I'd scrap it and put in a 242. Either that or puta 242 head on it and fuel inject it.

Thanks, but I don't want to go with a new aftermarket part. If I could find a used manifold for a good price I would consider it. As for the FI swap; I'm looking at a shoestring cost project (aren't we all?), and that option is far too expensive, at least for right now. Most of what I'm planning on doing only costs me time and effort, not cash.

If my project pans out I will be seriously considering the FI swap, but that wouldn't happen until late next year at the earliest.

So no Cherokee or 4.0 manifolds can be modified to fit the 258 head? A bit of grinding/cutting/welding is doable for me. What I'm looking for is a bit better flow without having to build a custom manifold..........

Thanks,

Mike

Here's a web site that will help. it shows the differences between the 4.0 and 4.2 like the manifolds and heads and all kinds of stuff. it's a great read.
