What intake manifold is best for the 258??

Hello. I am getting ready to replace my intake, hopefully, if funds permit. I have a Weber 38/38 and a dynomax dual outlet header right now. One of the reasons I want to replace the intake manifold is because with the header, I cannot get it to fit exactly right with the stock intake manifold. The header leaks a little around the gasket. I am looking at the Clifford "47-4500WH Intake Manifold 1972-90 258" (the water heated one).

Anyone have this intake or another brand or type? Just looking for suggestions and issues related.

Thank you,

Elliott

I run the clifford and have had no problems. I went with a 390 holley.

How was the install? Was it fairly easy, everything hook up alright? Do you have power steering? I am now trying to decide whether to grind down the flange on the stock intake manifold on the locations where the bolts go so that it makes a better fit with my header. I not all of them need to be ground, but if I can grind them all to 3/8", then I will probably keep the stock intake for now. The clifford with the weber adaptor is over $350 without shipping. I would like to get one, but I seem to be lacking in funds. I'm out of luck with the grinding of the stock intake too, because I just moved into an apartment in Charleston, SC and there's know where to do work like that. It appears as though I am in a pickle.

Fitted right up no problem, the heated water running in the intake is to replace the heat from the exh.manifold you no longer have with a installed header. I am in ohio and heated intake is needed in the winter. This helps the gas evaporate and stops the gas from pooling in the intake.
