What is actually a rev cam?

Hey guys. I put a 350 in my 01 wrangler about a year ago. I have fellas always asking me if it has a stock, rev or racing cam. I have a erson cam with .465"intake and .488" exhaust. I know it's not stock but what makes it either one or the other? Thanks for your help!!!

Most likely he means is it an RV cam. Those are slightly bigger than stock and made to pull harder down lower than a race cam.

The terms "RV" and "race" are basic terminolgies for cams that are other than stock. For someone to say they have an "RV" or "race" cam doesnt specify any particular cam or grind. You wont find cam companies using terms like that and none of them probably ever did, and those terms are carried over from the old school days where you might have only had 2-3 cam choices for any engine (stock, race or RV )

Just remember your cam specs and when someone asks in the future, give them the specs and see if they understand.
