Transmission swap??

my 89 yj tends to NOT accelerate anymore after i hit 4th gear, gears shift smooth and everything but nothing happens when i hit 35-40 mph.

would it be the transmission? any suggestions or has it happened to anyone else?
take it easy..

Take a minute to fill out your profile, please. It will help others give more accurate answers.

It sounds like you're running larger tires on a stock drivetrain. You may need to re-gear the axles to get some performance back.
