transmission problem question

i have a 97 wrangler. it had a ax 15 trans in it. i bought an ax15 from a 91 wrangler and the input shaft where it connects to the fly wheel is longer and thinner. i returned it. what year ax 15 would i have to get for it to work with my old set up?

Best guess is 94 and newer. This is the first year of external slave cylinder like yours.
