Transfer case knock?

Hello all and new to the forums. I have a 94 Jeep grand cherokee limited it has 155k miles on it. First off when it is cold i have no issues. I have owned it for a year. Put a new tranny in 2 months ago. The whole time i have owned it when it get real hot and i make a tight turn into a parking spot. I can hear and feel the wheels lock up and squeal my tires. Does not do this when cold. However now when i am at a stop and i hit the gas i hear a loud knocking noise around 2-4 knocks and then it goes away and driving is fine. Stop again and go and i get the same sound. When its cold it does not do this as well. Does this sound like a transfer case issue?

Yep sounds like a transfer case issue. The viscus coupling in the case is probably going out.
