I drive a 95 YJ 4cyl 5speed, I have a buddy with a np231 out of a 96 cherokee with an automatic, will that work or will it not fit?? i did a few searches and couldn't find the answer... any help is much appreciated! Thank You!

Probably won't work. Check the input spline counts. Bet they are different.

Input shafts may be different, but you can swap them out.

Pay attention to the length, too. I believe they are different from auto to manual trans.

I know spline counts changed from pre to post HO.

I have personally swapped a xfer case from an auto to a manual (92 model) and they were the same length.

Best option is to pull it and see.....if they are not the same, start taking them apart and swap the input shafts. Its not a hard job and shouldn't take over a couple hours

Thanks for all the help guys! I Found a used transfer case from a 95 yj with a 5speed so it should bolt right up. Thanks again!
