transfer case end play

I have swaped out the rear ballancer flange on the back of my rubicon np241j( nv241or) transfer case for a yoke ( 1310 ) and now I notice that the tail shaft( with yoke ) will move in and out about 1/16 of an inch ( it might have done this before the swap, I don;t know ).

From what I have reaseached the tail shaft is of a floating type,,,I'm just would like some one to verify that this is normal and that I dont have to pull every thing apart and lose peaces in the proccess .

I think that if I had a broken C clip on the shaft, that it would move more that what it is doing now....

can any one put my mind at rest,,,I just want to put my heep back together so I can go wheeling and enjoy the 4:1 low range... any help would be nice
