tranny help
i have swapped the 2.5l and 3sp manual tranny in my 84 cj7 to a 4.0 242 with 4sp auto tranny,,, i hate the tranny... was wondering if a ford 4sp manual will bolt up to the 242, with the exception of modifying the crank positioning sensor. the main problem i am having is the the auto tranny is too long... had to make a driveshaft that was only 17 inches long, making proper alignment to the rearend almost impossible... i am getting alot knock in the drive shaft at the tranny....
