Haven't heard from ya in a while rbbladers, I guess you're on your way to kill me.
But really, sorry if I offended you but that reply was just plain childish. Death threats are not something to be taken lightly by anyone and they certainly don't have a place on a peaceful forum talking about Jeeps.

Out of curiosity...what is there to remove? Do you mean you got someone to reprogram your PCM?

Can you honestly say that a stock 1999 Grand Cherokee fits in with that category?
Regardless of that point, it is these idiots you find rubber side up on the interstate. Good for them. I hope they enjoy coming out of pocket for their deductibles and raising insurance premiums for everyone else.
Have fun boys.

Typhoons and X5s are much more stable at high speeds because they have much more downforce from bodywork and former suspension.
Other large V8 SUVs still have governers stopping them from going over a safe speed. The manufacturers set them according to the highest safe speed.

you're absolutely right. i believe EVERYONE should think, at least twice about it, before going out and plowing into a passenger car...especially the second time.

Im picking up your sarcasm.
I am saying this because I was in a car that was hit by a cherokee going around 30 or so. We were T-boned on my side of the car. We ended up flying across the intersection, up a hill into a parking lot and into a parked car. Luckily we were in an 84 Caprice and I was the only one who got hurt. My head slammed into the door pillar and almost fractured my jaw. Had we been in some tin can Hyundai or something light like that circumstances would have been much worse.
If you saw it from my side, then you WOULD think twice about it next time you go out in something that big. I wasnt driving the SUV, but I know what it is like to be on the receiving end.

everyone understands what you are saying, but this goes for everyone no matter what they drive. you would have been just as hurt had another '84 caprice hit you. the average mid-size suv is no more menacing than anything else that size. if you're driving an econobox than everything on the road is bigger, heavier, and safer. should econoboxes be outlawed or their drivers frowned upon for having the poor judgement to put their own, and others, lives at stake for buying them?
to each their own...and a few brains too.

you are right, it doesnt matter what you drive if some moron is going to push it past the level that it can safely be driven and cause an accident. a person driving an escort can get it going 80 and tbone someone in a suburban and its still going to mess up the driver of the escort and the suburban.
there is a reason why there are speed limits and its not just to keep you from having too much fun. i know a speeding ticket isnt anything, but if its for going over 100, it turns into reckless driving, and(here in IL) you get your license suspended for 3 months. just some food for thought.

No, that's why I didn't put in the grouping. I like to drive fast and I did see what my ZJ could do, do I want it to go any faster, No...but I don't see the point of trying to convince someone not to do something/to do something over the internet, if he has his sights set on it, then he will do it if possible...so leave it at that, you aren't going to change his mind if he really wants to do it.
I am done w/ this thread.

You won't be hearing from rbbladders anymore, guys.
I don't take death threats lightly, not cool at all, and they have absolutely NO place on this forum, at alll.
I banned him.
I practice No Tolerance when it comes to that crap.

Darn, he was banned? I was gonna ask him for some help putting a lift kit and 35" tires on my Ferrari so I go go wheeling in it! Gotta love people who buy a purpose-designed vehicle and want to change the purpose!
Now if I could just figure out how to lower my Hummer I'd be all set

I totally agree with all of you. A cherokee has no reason to be going 90, let alone anything above that. But, this is a forum to help people. And I realize that you were helping the other poor people out on the road, but I for one would like to get an answer on how to do something that I want to do, not get flamed for wanting to do it. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, we are here to help people. And I can understand the passion about the sheer stupid action of trying to go over 100 in any SUV. However, he asked a question and he got his answers within the first few replies.
So, he accomplished what he wanted. However, everyone else is free to "educate" him on how stupid he is to attempt what he wants to do, and he was free to try to "defend" his position. (How anyone could, I have no idea, unless he was trying to legitimately set it up for drag-racing, which he never said he was).
Back and forth on that issue was fine. And, rustyCJ didn't "flame" him at all. He said "no offense, but why? I mean I could understand if it were a stang or a vette but its not. Did you buy it for speed? There are a lot better vehicles to buy if you just wanted to go fast."
That is not flaming, nor do I think it was intended that way. He asked a legitimate question and a darned good opinion.
When the reply from rbbladders comes across as a death threat in such a rude, hostile manner, however, that is not tolerable, and, in my opinion, not even worth a warning. He has a real personality problem and will never in any way benefit this forum. THAT is why he was banned.
Opinions and even back-and-forth statements like the ones in this post are fine. Differences in opinion and debates are fine. Just don't ever take it to his level, that is all we Moderators ask of you.
