TJ engine mods

I want to add a cold air intake/ throttle body/ exhaust/ chip. What's the best options for a 4.0 in a 01 TJ? Any other info is appreciated.

Have you researched any of this? Windstar cowl intake and do a general tune up. If you don't want to cut a hole into the cowl, then leave the stock intake alone. The rest is a waste of money and does not accomplish anything.

Yes I have, I would like first hand experiences. My hood already has a bunch of holes in it and general tune up was done 500 miles ago.

I've tried chips and programmers on my 92,88,& a 99 my best friends rig. All xj's. No real improvement. I have noticed improvements with snorkels. Your tj has cold air intake stock.
CAI kits aren't true cold air. The sir under the hood is still the same air you had stock. A better quality filter will help like k&n.

If you have a mechanical radiator fan, converting to an electric one is one of the best mods you can make. If made most mods out there and the fan conversion is the best in my opinion. Really takes a noticeable load off the engine.

Already have a electric fan it did help quite a bit. I guess I will just do the K&N filter. Later on I want to get a super charger.

K&N will just slowly destroy your engine with no benefit. These aren't racecars.

If you want any noticeable improvement for the money:

Better build the engine to take it.

How? Serious question not flaming or bashing.
Got to love how the charge $4000 for light strokes lol. I built my 4.8 for $1200 in parts and it was in bad shape too. All if exhaust valves were burnt or just not desired lol.
But heck yes on the stroker. Never looking back.

I like this idea, better start saving. I know they are not race cars haha the 6 does pretty good with the 40s... But that stroker is where it's at I'm sure.

It is. My friends are having me build theirs lol. Got 4 of them in the hot tank.
You'd love it. What you do now @ 5000rpm the stroker does between 3500-4000.

The material that allows for better cfm also allows fine dirt and dust into the engine. Great for racecars which will be torn down and rebuilt anyways, but bad for vehicles that have and engine that is needed for tens of thousands of miles. Plus the stock airbox is more than capable of handling all airflow needs for the 4.0, so you will literally see no gain.
