t4 to t176

Will the input shaft from the t4 swap out with the t176? The input shaft on my t176 measure 6 3/8" but Novak says it should measure 7 1/2". It just so happens that I need that 1 1/8", according to everything I've read, and my t4 that I'm replacing has the 7 1/2". Any help please??

They both have 23 spline output shaft and 7 1/2" input shaft with 1 1/8" x 10 splines. I only know what I read. Learning as I go so some assistance would be greatly appreciated.
