T case shifter bunching up on boot

My t case (dana 20) wont stay in 4wd cause it bunches up on the OEM boot. I think this is due to the fact that I have a t case drop and fiberglass body.
Ive done a little cutting of excess metal and rubber boot but it still will slip out.
With out the boot I have no problems.
Anybody use something else as a boot?
