Swapping a dana 20 transfer case for a dana 18

I want to swap a dana 20 for a dana 18. I have a dana 20 rear end the driveline will now be offset. Has anyone done this or heard of it or any problems. Thanks Mark

Just the cost. Between the adapter and the drivelines you will have to drop some coin. Other than that, he 18 is plenty strong and give the long term option of an overdrive.

I'm actually doing the same thing to my 79 cj5 and am wondering if the centered differential is too far off to work and if I'll have to get an offset dana 44. Anyone know?
