Swaping Jeep Engines

Is it possible to replace the 4.0L I6 engine in my 96 Jeep Cherokee Sport with a 5.2L v8 from a 96 Grand Cherokee Laredo?

Anything is "possible" with enough technical skills or money.

The simple answer is no, there is not enough room under the hood for anything but a GM 350. With any engine swap you have to deal with the electronic engine controls, emissions testing, transmission fitments, stronger axles, installing/adapting a transfer case, etc.
