Sticky gas pedal??? Maybe???

I have a 1998 jeep wrangler tj it has a problem im sure, but i have know idea what it is and how to fix it. So i was driving to autozone and got a part but when i left i was just about to turn out of the drive way and when i let off the pedal its like it didnt come up or it was stuck but i dont know. When i was just about to go out of the drive way it was like it was in full throttle and it wouldnt stop so i hit the brakes, but it was like it still wanted to move so i put it in neutral and it was reving really high for about 5 sec. If i would have taken my foot off the pedal i probably would have been in a major car crash. Please help me and let me known what you think it may be or how i can fix it thanks.

Had the same thing happen to me. The wiring harness from the TPS had gotten behind the throttle linkage not allowing it to go back to idle position.
