SR4 to T176 skid plate mounting issues

I am swapping out my SR-4 for a T-176. I have a 1980 CJ7 and am running a AMC360 with Dana 300.

After the swap, I went to reinstall the skidplate /cross member it is hitting the front of the Dana 300, as the T176 is a few inches shorter. I saw three sets of holes presumably for different set ups, so I figured these were for T-176, SR-4, or Auto.

Now it looks like I would either need to notch the skid plate or find a new one that bolts up with this set up. I cannot clock the Dana 300 or it hits the shift rails.

Any ideas?
