spline count on a 99 xj with a np242 case

I have been looking on here for days and I cant sen to find out how many splines are on my 99 xj with a np242 case. Is there somewhere that it is marked? Or do I have to pull the yoke and count in manually?

27 spline. With a 242 your only option is a hack n tap kit unless they've come out with a replacement output shaft sye.

That's good to know. Just a few years ago if you had a 242 your only option was to buy a hack n tap for a 231 and use it.
