Somebody help identify my axle!

Ok so I'm upgrading to a larger lift as I got tired of a 4.5 inch and its asking for my rear axle. Don't know if I have the 35 or the 8.25 thanks

What is it sitting under?

Keep in mind that free advice can frequently be worth less than you pay for it.

It's a 2000 cherokee sport. 4.5 inch lift on 31s. Upgrading to 6.5 on 35s I couldn't tell what the rear was. So it is an 8.25?

Yes see how it has a more straight top (3 bolts before it starts to curve)? The Dana 35 is more of a complete oval

If he has the 8.25 a d44 is a waste of money. Hardly an upgrade other than getting rid of c-clips. Both axles good for 35's easily.
