Some newbie swap questions

So my 97 TJ just threw a rod and im in need of a new block. I was think about just upgrading to a V-8 motor, but im not sure what kinds of V8s will work and how much i will actually have to switch out to get the motor to work. I know i will need the ECM and a new bell-housing(that is if my stock manual tranny will be compatable). If anyone knows the specifics i would greatly appreciate it
