did it several times in my chevrolet.
poor it in 100 miles or so before an oil change.
none of these will give the smoke. The smoke is when you let it get sucked up by the vacuum line on the brakebooster.

Ive been wanting to try it in the crankcase, but something in the back of my head keeps me from trying. I add edsome to the brake booster and it fixed my rough idle.

slight tap.
only reason i asked is, if i dont use the jeep for long periods if time, i get a second of what sounds like a valve tap. i mean i do realize the 4.0-I-6's sound a little sloppy anyway. someone suggested to me that it just might be a little dirt and add some seafoam or marvel mystery oil to crank. other than that occasional slight quick tap, motor sounds same as when i got it in 03'. could just be the nature of the beast. by the way, this after it sets for a couple of weeks. thanks.

if you have high miles and run regular oil i'd stay away from it . it'll free stuff up pretty good and could clog a bearing . best to do a bunch of frequent oil changes to clean a high mileage dino user . if you've been using synthetic all along then seafoam wont hurt as there shouldn't be alot of crap to free up .

I've used Seafoam before with no problems. Possibly better is to drain a quart of oil and put in ATF and run it for about 15 minutes then do an oil change. It's probably along the same line except that it's the detergent in the ATF that helps. I'm not sure what's in Seafoam. Haven't read the ingredients.

New to the Jeep world but...my old car Mini Cooper S...It did wonders. Always added 1/3 of the bottle in the the vacuum line, gas tank, and oil. Did it aprox every 10,000 miles.

Seafoam is nothing more than "pale oil" a wax free napthenic oil. (read mineral oil) 50-ish%, Isopropyl Alc at the rate of 15-ish%, and the balance Naptha (coleman fuel).
The stuff is the highest priced can of lantern fuel, and laxative you can find.
The wealth of information you can find on a MSDS

I added a bottle in my crankcase before around 100k miles. No harm done that I could see. I have 152,000 miles currently. Not sure if it did much. I never really tried to pay attention if there was a difference though. Top of the engine looks clean peeking through the top of the valve cover, but that's probably the result of regular oil changes rather than seafoam.
