Power steering replacement or upgrade

Power steering it's groaning on about 25% of my turns now.
Time to either replace or upgrade.
I run 35s.
I've tried to look around and psc steering boxes seem to be double the cost of factory-ish.
Should I be running an upgraded one like a psc or should I just skip the expense and stay with factory?
Any other brands I should be looking at?

Please fill out your profile so people understand what make, model and year jeep you have and how it is equipped. This allows people to answer your questions accurately.

IIRC from a thread I think you started on York OBA, it is an 05 LJ. Might want to go over to the TJ Tech section and do some reading. Steering issues get discussed often there. My first reaction is that I tend to think of noise from the steering to be more of a pump issue than a gear issue, although it probably depends exactly what the noise is. With 35s and upgrading, when it comes to steering I would worry first about the steering linkage (i.e. draglink and tie-rod) before the rest of it. OEM tie rod in particular is pretty weak. When it comes to the system itself, unfortunately there are no real cheap options. You should be able to find some discussion of options in threads in TJ Tech. Even the OEM boxes are not cheap and when buying those you have to be real careful about getting bad reman'd boxes. Personally, I run hydro assist with PSC parts but that's arguably a bit of overkill. If you do decide to replace the gear, I actually have a spare PSC gear for 03+ TJs (PSC part #SG-400) that has been very lightly used (a few thousand miles on a stockish jeep). I could probably be convinced to sell it for a lot less than the price you see on PSC website.

Thanks for the guidance on the forum and the steering.
I'll dig in a little more.
