Popping noise in front end.

I have a 97 cherokee. The front track bar has gone bad. The ball joint in it has worn and just started popping. It looks like an easy fix. Just not sure if i should undertake this in my garage. The part will cost me about $80, just need some advice if i should do it, or take it some where.

The part that you are talking about is called a "heim-joint". You can get it a little cheaper that 80 bucks. But I replaced mine in August because it too popped. But now it still pops even though everything is tight. So I would say to you unless the handling is bad, don't replace it.
