Please help w/ Tranny

O.K.
1988 YJ 4.2L Peugot Tranny

My problem, or question rather. On the driver side of the tranny, there is two metal lines. One goes up to the Clutch master cylinder, the other comes out about 5 or 6 inches from the tranny and has a brass looking fitting that has a nipple on one end. Is there supposed to be a hose or line connected to this second line or not? It just looks like a open line. Might just be a dumb question. This thing marks its territory everywhere it parks, not sure from where yet, I do believe I have a bad seal in the tail shaft of the transfer case, but not sure about this line. Thanks for any help,
Michael

Mine has that second line with the nipple to, also not connected to anything. I assumed it was for bleeding the air out of the system, but I've never had to mess with my clutch so far.

The second line is for bleeding the slave cylinder and the master cylinder. If your leaking from the slave cylinder, then its time to replace it.
