Please help!!!!!!this sucks

OKAY..i have a 1990 yj. it has a 4.2 amc carbureted. it had a blown head gasket. id like to either swap it with a charokee 4.0efi or I also read that I can just swap out end. I just had a son and money is tight. what would be the best way to go about this. I been driving my wifes purple vw cabrio with a stupid chic sticker down the whole side. daddy needs his jeep back??? also I have access to a bunch of charokees in the local junkyards.

Simplest to just get another 4.2.

You'll spend a lot more adapting a 4.0 into it.
