Performance Parts for a 2.5L!!!!!
Well I bought the 2.5L to get good gas mileage and that plan went down the crapper. I'm interested in getting some performance parts for my 2002 TJ. First a air intake system, then a JET performance chip and then the big one an Avenger Supercharger .
Thats gonna be fun.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Re: Performance Parts for a 2.5L!!!!!
my suggestion:
2.5 I4 (Factory ratings 120hp@5400rpm/140lbft@3500rpm)
1. Cold air intake with 5" Powerstack cone filter
2. 4.0 TB with taper bored to 60mm
3. Poweraid TB spacer bored to 60mm
4. Intake manifold heatshield
5. Flowmaster 50 series 2.25" muffler
6. High-flow cat
7. Clifford Performance header with 2.25" piping
8. Champion copper plugs
9. Magnecor 8.5mm plug wires
10. Electric fan conversion
11. Speedtweaks IAT adjuster
With the package of mods listed above, output should improve by 20% to about 145hp.
Jet chip? waste of 300$ dont pay full price, sc yeah, thats some big bucks, but hey if you want it....

If you plan on doing a lot of offroading, you could add a Tri County Inertia ring. Here's an article on what it does.

That would be the perfect thing for my 4cyl. It does that a lot on steep objects.
More suggestions, please.

About the only thing left I can think of would be gears. That is an expensive upgrade, and it deffinetly won't help your gas milage. If you plan on going with larger tires, you'll need to get gears that will help you utilize the torque you have.
I've heard it's something like
30"- 3.73
31"- 4.11
32"- 4.11
35"- 4.56
That's just what most guys will run to get that same feeling of power they had at the stock tire size. I'd deffinately ask a shop what they feel would be the best gear for your application.

how much is that supercharger gonna cost you? might put you over the price of replacing the motor

Just a few mods:
Cone air intake
K&N Air filter
Catback Exhaust system
Electric cooling fan
Regearing is always good, i'm looking into doing it. I would go w/ 4.56s.
I hear that a supercharger can be very hard and take a lot of life off of your engine...Not sure though.
